… ‘Let’s see how we can do that.’

“A lot of people wouldn’t hear of the ideas I’ve suggested,” says Apex, N.C., business owner Karim Nice. “But Spyglass never just says, ‘No, we can’t do that.’ It’s always, ‘Let’s see how we can do that.’”

Nice wanted a home that was different from the others he saw going up in the Triangle area – different, not because it scored high marks from the curb-appeal cognoscenti; but because it joined flawlessly with the values of him, his wife and their three children. The American farmhouse-style residence Spyglass is building for Nice in Apex does just that, with a geothermal heating and cooling system that will help the Nice family reduce their energy costs. Individualized aesthetics like rustic hardwood floors and a metal roof combine with the efficiency of the materials used for the home’s core to make this residence one of a kind, not just one of thousands.

Clients who partner with Spyglass Building know that functional creativity never goes out of style. “We don’t have 30-foot high entry halls,” says Nice. “Our house is definitely for living in, not for show. That’s what we wanted.”
